Precinct Committee (PCO's) people are the beginning of our representative system. Each precinct is comprised of a small geographic area. Precinct Committee are elected for two year terms. Filing is free and the election takes place in even number years. Precinct Committee people share conservative values and information about important upcoming elections, events and issued with their friends and neighbors during their term. They also attend monthly meetings of the Okanogan County Republican Central Committee and have an opportunity to help with a variety of events and have a say in shaping policy. In between the two year election cycle there is a process whereby the County Chairman may appoint PCO's to fill vacant precincts. If there is a PCO in your precinct, you may also be appointed as captain of a nearby precinct. Monthly meetings are open to the public and listed on the calendar of events. If you are interested in becoming a PCO please join us at a meeting or contact us for more information. All PCO's will need to file for reelection during filing week, May 6 - 10, 2024. Filing is done via the County Auditor website.
If you don't feel you have the time to become a PCO, or you would like to get better acquainted first, we are always looking for people to help with various special projects and events. We host an annual Lincoln Day Dinner as our major fundraising event, help is welcome in planning, decorating, securing donations for the silent auction, etc. We also host candidate forums, candidate meet and greets, opportunities for doorbelling or phone banking, and much more during election years. The fair booth is an important outreach and needs people to staff it for the full four days of the fair. We participate in parades and local community festivals to promote our values. With enthusiastic, energetic volunteers, the sky is the limit as to what we can accomplish.
Monetary donations are always needed and welcome. Our main objective is getting Republican Candidates elected to office. Advertising and promotion takes funds. We also maintain a headquarters/meeting area at Okanogan. This is an excellent outreach opportunity and a great place to host a variety of events. We also have special projects such as youth civics nights where we serve pizza. Your donations may be ear-marked for any of these projects if you wish and contributions to the general fund are welcomed as wel..
