Liberty requires personal responsibility in a free society. The pursuit of happiness is an inalienable right, so long as it does not conflict with the constitutional rights of others. It is the responsibility of individuals in a free society to stand against tyranny. by preserving individual rights, limited government, and the consent of the governed.
Constitutions, state and federal, defend our individual God-given rights, and must be protected to preserve the consent of the governed.
The second amendment is the right of individuals to keep and bear arms and is essential to liberty, safety and the preservation of our constitutional republic.
Peace through strength is the best defense.
The Electoral College is necessary to ensure that each state and territory has a voice in honest, fair, and free national elections.
Personal property rights (the possession and control of one’s own property) are fundamental to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Laws and regulations pertaining to personal property
should give priority to the rights of the individual.
Human life must be protected and defended from conception to natural death.
Regulatory power assumed by local, state, and federal agencies far exceeds constitutional authority and has infringed upon individual rights. It must be scaled back and held more accountable to the consent of the citizens and to legislative intent.
Taxation should be used to provide constitutional services with the consent of the people, and not with the intent to transfer wealth.
Budgets must be fiscally responsible, show all inputs and debits, and be balanced to include projected borrowing. Borrowing (deficit spending) should be used
thoughtfully, with a plainly stated method to repay the debt to avoid burdening future generations.
Agriculture and natural resource use are essential to a strong economy. Local landowners are the best stewards for utilizing and sustaining our natural resources. Regulations pertaining to land, wildlife, water, and property rights must be made with local interests in mind.
Climate science is not settled and is not sufficiently developed to justify regulatory measures.
Energy security and domestic energy independence should direct energy policy goals. Energy research should explore the development of economically sound energy resources. We support including hydroelectric power as a renewable resource.
Welfare often deprives individuals of the right to be self-sufficient and should be temporary help to get people back into the workforce, rather than a long-term source of income. It is assistance, not subsistence.
Health care and health insurance should be made affordable through competitive market structures. Health care must provide innovative options from insurance, health savings plans, and health care safety nets based upon free market principles. Single-payer or government-controlled healthcare will be more costly and less effective.
Marriage is traditionally defined as a union between one man and one woman. However, it is the freedom of the individuals to choose how they define their relationships with others. Government should not be involved in the contract of marriage nor in restricting or enforcing personal choices or beliefs.
Law and justice are based upon the constitutional equality of all before the law, not on social justice, but upon equal protection under the law.
Legal immigration should be encouraged and supported, in order to allow others to live under our constitutional government in a free society. A path to citizenship for assimilated residents should be considered.
Border control is imperative for national security and to ensure a robust legal immigration program. The Border Patrol and ICE are essential to this mission.
English The Government of the United States shall preserve and enhance the role of English as the official language of the United States of America.
Education programs and curriculum are best decided by individual school boards, in cooperation with parents, without state or federal coercion.
